Local walks in & around Emsworth…
From the South Downs to Quay Meadow Bosham and Forest Bere, Emsworth is awash with National Parks and beautiful greenery just around the corner, but some of the best local walks are just on your doorstep…quite literally. Across the road to The Ropemaker is a footpath leading to Emsworth Harbour, visitors and locals can either take a 30 minute countryside walk to the harbour passing by St Thomas Church, or alternatively ramblers may choose the coastal route, The Solent Way. This 60-mile long-distance coastal walking route from the seaside town of Milford-on-Sea to Emsworth Harbour has been divided into 8 sections, each offering something different. Visitors can choose between deserted coastal marshes, cosy riverside cafes or seaside picnics and shingle beaches with breathtaking views. There are castles and forts to explore, ships, submarines and museums to visit – all seasoned with fresh and slightly salty sea air. From the Ropemaker The Solent Way is easily accessible and after a short ramble, will lead you right to the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Emsworth.
When you arrive in Emsworth harbour, embark upon a day of wandering the cobblestone streets, admiring brightly coloured houses and exploring the many shops, restaurants and cafes the vibrant town has to offer. For the little ones, Flintstones Tea Room offers bags of duck food to share with the feathery locals… whatever you decide to do this serene seaside spot has so much to offer.
